Bensimon: The Anti-Toms.

I am not a huge sneaker person in general. I need a pair for the gym and a casual pair for walking the dog, doing errands, etc. This casual pair ideally needs to be slip-on, since shoe laces are more trouble than they are worth in my opinion.  The second requirement is that they are fashionable and flattering but these are slip-on shoes so my expectations are relatively low. The most popular slip-on shoe in this city comes from Tom’s. They can be found in almost any store, come in dozens of patterns, colors and styles, and as a bonus, a kid in need will get a pair for every one you buy. As much as I enjoy wearing my Tom’s, I wanted something that was a little less popular and more flattering on my not so small feet. The cubbies in my yoga studio were full of Tom’s, and I kept worrying I would take the  wrong pair home. I have been seeing this French sneaker brand popping up in some popular blogs, so I decided to try them out for myself. It has been about a month, and honestly, I have not been able to take them off. This simple white pair matches with everything and was super soft and comfortable from the moment I put them on. They are slightly narrower than my Tom’s, have a more streamlined, feminine look and best of all, I have not spotted them on anyone else just yet.
